February’s pilgrimage led me to Blue Hen Falls, nestled within Cuyahoga Valley National Park. On a crisp winter afternoon, I stepped onto the trail, eager to see what this journey had in store for me. What I found was more than just a scenic walk—it was a reflection of life itself.
This trail, much like life, had its share of challenges—uphill battles, uncertain footing, and moments of discomfort. But embracing those obstacles, instead of resisting them, was the only way through. There is no perfect way to navigate life; there is only the willingness to keep going.
After crossing bridges, creeks, and rocky paths, I finally arrived at Blue Hen Falls. There, I sat with the water—watching, listening, and feeling the peace wash over me. I took a moment to meditate, to be present, to just exist with nature.

But just like in life, the journey didn’t end at the waterfall. I had to turn back. Returning along the same path, I felt a sense of urgency, fatigue, and wandering thoughts. It became harder to stay present, to remain grounded. The real challenge was not just reaching peace—but carrying it with me.
This hike was a reflection of life itself—the uncertainty, the rough patches, the moments of beauty, and the strength it takes to keep moving forward. Life isn’t just waterfalls; it’s the entire terrain. But just as I carried the sound of the water with me, we can all carry our moments of peace, of knowing, of clarity—no matter where the path leads next.
You don’t have to wait for life to affirm you. You don’t have to wait for permission to step into your power. Take charge, trust your footing, and move forward with certainty.
Take charge, trust your footing, and move forward with certainty.
And when you need to pause, find your waterfall.
