How Do You Want to Feel This Year?

As we step into a new year, I want to challenge you with a question that has been a guiding light for me lately: How do you want to feel? This question has immense power—it’s not just about setting goals or making plans but about tapping into your emotions as a guiding principle to create the life you truly desire.

Feelings are more than fleeting moments; they are anchors and indicators. They help you assess your environment, your decisions, and even your direction in life. When planning your goals this month, I encourage you to use this question—How do I want to feel?—as your North Star.

Why Feelings Matter

Your feelings guide your experiences and help you align with your true desires. Think about it:

• Career: How do you want to feel at work? Fulfilled, independent, appreciated?

• Home: How do you want to feel where you live? At peace, inspired, or connected to nature?

• Relationships: How do you want to feel in your interactions with others? Loved, valued, respected?

Feelings act as a compass, helping you navigate your choices and stay aligned with your authentic self. For instance, when people buy homes, they often make decisions based on how they feel in the space. They may not remember all the details, but they know if the space feels “right.”

Similarly, people might forget what you said or did, but they will always remember how you made them feel. Your emotions are a powerful energy source, capable of attracting the life you want when you pay attention to them and act accordingly.

How to Start Feeling Your Way Through the Year

1. Identify Your Core Desired Feelings

What emotions do you want to feel daily? Here are a few examples:

• Love

• Appreciated

• Independent

• Influential

• Supported

2. Use Feelings as a Planning Tool

As you set goals for your career, finances, or personal life, ask yourself:

• What emotions do I want to cultivate in this area of my life?

• Does this decision align with how I want to feel

For example:

• bFinancial goals: Do you want to feel stable, abundant, or secure?

• Personal goals: Do you want to feel joyful, adventurous, or calm?

3. Tune into Your Emotional Frequenc

By focusing on how you want to feel, you naturally attract experiences, opportunities, and people that resonate with those emotions. It’s like setting an internal GPS toward your desired life.
